Summer
- Freshman Orientation traditionally is the last Wednesday of the summer- look for the summer Newsletter from Student Services that is sent home in August. During Freshman orientation, an overview of the expectations is given followed by introductions of personnel, a question/answer period, distribution of schedules and a self-guided tour of the building. The time is offered to enable everyone to get comfortable with the new environment before the start of the school year.

Fall
- School Counselors meet with studetns as a group during a class period. We break up into small groups, each student going with their assigned school counselor. The class period is spent familiarizing students with graduation requirements and getting to know each other better. Students are encouraged to use the student services department to best meet their needs. The roles of the psychologist, social worker and student assistance counselor are reviewed.
Winter
- January, we distribute Course Selection Books and review the scheduling process with all freshmen.
- Mid-February until roughly April students should make an appointment meet with their couselor individually to discuss their plans. We will review transcripts, select sophomore courses, encourage involvement in activities and touch upon post high school plans.
Spring
- Students fill out the Activity Profile which is the highlights of the past year. Students are encouraged to become involved in a variety of activities. Volunteering a service in school or community is important to building a strong high school resume. dership opportunities, scholarships and awards.
