Families in the mid-Hudson Valley have spoken: All three Red Hook Central School District schools are among the best in the region.
Red Hook High School and Linden Avenue Middle School both earned first-place honors in their categories in the annual Chronogram Readers' Choice Awards, and Mill Road Elementary School took third place.
More than 20,000 people took part in the nomination and voting process for the awards bestowed by Chronogram, an independent media company with a magazine and website serving the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas. Award categories span a range of categories in addition to education, from best places in the region for weddings and family fun, to the best options for various foods and outdoor activities, to the best advocacy organizations and wellness resources. The winners were determined by reader voting. Visit this link to Chronogram’s website to see the full list.
Red Hook High School was named the best High School in the region, beating second-place Saugerties and third-place Kingston.
Linden Avenue Middle School finished ahead of second-place Onteora Middle School and third-place Saugerties Junior High School in the best Middle School category.
Mill Road earned third among elementary schools, behind only Kingston’s John F. Kennedy Elementary School (first) and Onteora’s Woodstock Elementary School.
“It’s gratifying to see the programs and instruction offered to our students be acknowledged and appreciated,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Janet Warden said. “We think the experience in Red Hook district schools is wonderful, and these results show we’re not alone in that belief. We thank Chronogram readers for these honors. We look forward to continuing to grow our programs again in 2025-26.”
