Posted Date: 03/12/26 (08:02 PM)

Visit Red Hook High School’s Performing Arts Center this weekend to see the Hardscrabble Players’ production of “Hello, Dolly!”
The curtain rises on the spring production Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m. Saturday’s performance is likewise 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is 2 p.m. Though the pre-sale is finished, tickets remain available at the door for $15 general admission; $13 for students and seniors.
In all, nearly 80 Red Hook students are taking part in the production between cast, crew and orchestra. The group spent Thursday running through dress rehearsal several times in advance of the first show.
“Hello, Dolly!” originally won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1964 before more recently winning the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical in 2017. The comedy tells the story of a matchmaker who is tasked with finding a match for a wealthy miser.
The play features several large-scale musical numbers that make use of the Hardscrabble Players’ deep cast, as well as the robust orchestra in the pit. While the cast is anchored by a large group of seniors, led by Gavin Bogert, Nora Callaghan-Jurgens and Lennon Winters in the titular role, several sophomores and freshmen play key roles, including Sam Solomon, Devin DeCarolis, Hannah Posner and others.
